  • Welcome Reception – Omni Los Angeles Hotel – 7 pm

Come celebrate with University Officials, Alumni and Special Guests as we turn kick off the weekend. This event will be sponsored by the NCCU Office of Alumni Relations and the NCCU Alumni Association

Friday, September 15, 2023

  • HBCU Community Day and Block Party – Obama Sports Complex
    • College Fair – 9 am- 12 pm
    • Community Day – 5 pm - 6 pm
    • HBCU Block Party – 6 pm - 8 pm

This community day is a two-fold celebration and educational opportunity to acknowledge the importance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Come meet with admissions counselors, representatives from the University, hear the NCCU Sound Machine, Champagne (NCCU Cheerleaders), NCCU Alumni Association President/Leadership, food trucks, music, and more. This event is sponsored by HBCU Curates and the City of Los Angeles. 

  • The Great Gatsby Party – sponsored by the NCCU California Alumni Chapter - 8:30 pm

The Great Gatsby Party is a one night only HBCU reunion full of fun, music, drinks, food, and more! The California NCCU Alumni Chapter will host NCCU Eagles, extended Eagle family and friends in LA. The attire for the evening is Gatsby-themed or cocktail attire at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel, 251 S. Olive Street Los Angeles, CA

 NCCU vs. UCLA at the Rose Bowl Stadium (Pasadena, CA) – 2pm (PST)

The North Carolina Central University Alumni Association (NCCUAA) is asking all patrons attending the game to consider adding a $5 donation to their ticket order to purchase tickets for local California high school students to attend the historic game.

  • The Nest (Post-Game Gathering) – Hilton Pasadena Hotel – Pasadena, CA  8:00 pm

Join us after the game for hor d’oeuvres, whiskey tastings, and music hosted by Ms. Jade Fuller, reigning Ms. NCCU Alumni 2023. Tickets will be on sale on or before August 1.  This event is co-sponsored by Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey.

Football Game Tickets 

The North Carolina Central University Alumni Association (NCCUAA) requests all patrons attending the game to consider adding a $5 donation to their ticket order to support the cost of local California high school students to the game.

If you are buying multiple tickets to the game, you only need to choose the higher $5 option once. For example, if you buy three (3) $31 tickets, choose two (2) tickets @ $31, and the last ticket at $36. You will see at checkout that your seats will be together, and you have made one $5 donation. Supporters not attending the game are asked to purchase two (2) $12 tickets and donate them to the NCCUAA to help bring the high school students to the game.

Rose Bowl stadium map/Ticket prices as follows (Opponent Side of Field), plus fee:

  • $12 plus optional $5 – unreserved general admission in the end zone
  • $31 plus optional $5-  reserved, 10–20-yard line -tunnels1-2, rows 1-77
  • $44 plus optional $5 – reserved, 20–30-yard line – tunnels 2-3 rows 1-49
  • $69 plus optional $5 – reserved, 40-yard line – tunnels 3-5, rows 1-49

Club Level: $275 - $400 (depending upon section) – includes food and non-alcoholic beverages

Suites (excludes food and beverages):

$8,500  holds 16 people

$12,500 – holds 24 people

$20,000 – holds 32 people

 

Purchase Transportation

The NCCU Alumni Association is excited to offer transportation services for our Eagle Family, which will join us in LA for the Rose Bowl. Please select from one, two or three-day options available between Sept. 14-17, 2023. Be sure to include your pick-up and drop-off location for EACH day. Tickets are listed per person, $35 - $105. Note: Sunday's transportation will run between the hotel to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

  • Transportation is only available from three hotels - Omni Los Angeles, Westin Bonaventure, Hilton Pasadena - between September 14-17.  
  • Individuals purchasing transportation will receive a confirmation and further instructions from Michelle Gaston, UCLA NCCU Alumni Association Planning Lead
 

Hotel Rooms

The NCCU Alumni Association has contracted with the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites (connected to the Omni Los Angeles by a bridge - 5-10 minute walk) for a room block. The rooms are $219 per night - single/double; $239 per night - triple; $259 per night - quad and available between Thursday, Sept 14 to Sept 17. The deadline to secure a room is August 23, 2023.  

 

E-Swag Bag 

It's not to late to get ready for the game by purchasing your E-Swag Bag for $39 (plus shipping and handling) to celebrate our “Champions On the Rise”.  The bag includes: clear plastic bag, t-shirt, pom poms, sunglasses, and towel.
