It is with a spirit of transparency and gratitude that I write to inform you of a leadership transition within the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association, Inc.
NCCUAA President Andre' Vann tendered his resignation effective 6/18/25. We extend our deepest thanks to President Vann for his dedicated service and leadership over the past year. His commitment to NCCU and its alumni has left a lasting impact, and we are grateful for his contributions.
Effective immediately, I will assume the role of President of the Association. I step into this role with deep humility, a clear sense of purpose, and an unwavering commitment to continue serving our alumni and the greater NCCU community.
Over the coming weeks, I will work closely with our chapter leadership and key stakeholders to assess where we are, listen intently, and begin forging a path forward—one rooted in unity, clarity, and renewed purpose.
I ask for your grace and understanding as I work with the leadership team to navigate this transition and lead a necessary refocus. As we move forward, I will ensure that we do so with clarity, compassion, and a strong focus on the future we are building together. As we approach a monumental milestone - 100 years of the NCCU Alumni Association - your energy and engagement are more important than ever. If you are willing to serve on a committee or otherwise assist the association, please don't hesitate to reach out. I would love to hear from you. Together I hope to build on the legacy of those who have served before us and make things better for our next generation of Eagles.
This transition will require an appointment to be made to the VP position on our executive board, and I assure you that we will thoughtfully make the necessary decisions as quickly as possible with an announcement to be made after the annual meeting. Several committee appointments and information will be shared during our upcoming Annual Business Meeting, held during Alumni Weekend, June 27–29 in Durham. I look forward to seeing many of you there as we come together in support of our beloved NCCU.
Thank you all for your continued dedication and focus on moving our association forward.
In Truth and Service,
Nikki Davis-Green, '98
President, NCCU Alumni Association
